The Film Department produces as many as 20 films per year. We are always looking for talent of all ages and encourage members of the Vassar community to submit their information and audition. Experience is a plus, but not necessary.
To be considered, please submit your headshot and resume to firstname.lastname@example.org with “Casting” and your full name in the subject line.
When submitting your files, please include your full name in the filenames of both your photo and resume (ex. JohnDoe.jpeg).
Please follow the link to fill out a form that helps us organize your contact information:
If at any time you wish to be removed from our mailing list, please email email@example.com.
Generally, on the second Wednesday in December, auditions are held by appointment and auditioners are chosen from talent submissions based on type. We send out character descriptions as soon as the scripts have been determined.
We work with SAG/AFTRA performers on a student LOA (Letter of Agreement) for senior projects only.
If you are cast, the commitment is typically weekends from January to April for lead roles. You are encouraged to audition for one-liners and small commitments as well. You can inform us of your availability at the auditions or on our Actor Information Sheet.
There is no pay or transportation reimbursement; however, credit and a copy of your work will be awarded. Participants are also invited to our screenings in May.
Our Casting File
We keep your information private. The casting file will be available to Vassar film students only, who may contact talent when they are in the process of casting. We carefully separate information about child actors and always work through parents.
If and when we are alerted to outside casting calls, we will send out a general announcement, rather than give out your contact information.
Heidi K. Eklund, our administrative assistant, manages casting for the Film Department. Please direct any questions to Heidi by emailing firstname.lastname@example.org.
