Ed Wroblewski, the Film and Video Production Technician, can be found in the Film Department’s service/repair shop which serves as his office. Ed is responsible for the repair and maintenance of every piece of production equipment: film and video cameras, lighting, film editing and projection equipment, sound recorders, mixdown systems, video transfer and editing suites. Hi is also responsible for the organization and smooth operation of the editing labs, screening, projection and stock rooms. Ed coordinates student employees.

Ed’s background includes engineering and servicing a wide variety of electronic, audio-visual and electromechanical technologies. He has worked in broadcast radio engineering and has done sound reinforcement, and has operated the projection booths at two area drive-in theaters. Before taking his present position in the film department, Ed was a part-time Technician with Vassar’s Media Resources Department.

Some of Ed’s personal interests include restoration of antique farm equipment, working with Vassar Brothers Institute in Poughkeepsie which presents an award-winning series of weekly travelogues narrated live by professional filmmakers, and working on electronics as a hobby. Ed helped the New York Theater Organ Society to restore the mighty Wurlitzer organ which is now used for shows at the Bardavon Theater in Poughkeepsie. Ed also enjoys spending time with his dog “Hoser”.
